40 years ago today at 9:32 am local time, Apollo 11 blasted off for moon. I was only 7 months old at the time, but I have always been fascinated by space travel and wish I had been old enough to have my own memory of this event. My own memories of pioneering space flights include watching the Space Shuttle Enterprise make some of its maiden voyages when I was in the third grade and I remember watching the first Space Shuttle mission, STS -1, with great interest when I was in the 6th grade.Thursday, July 16, 2009

40 years ago today at 9:32 am local time, Apollo 11 blasted off for moon.
